The summer that we learned our first child was on the way, we made a leap of faith and bought plan tickets to Montana. We were going to visit Sunshine's old stomping grounds in Missoula and to spend a week backpacking in Glacier National Park. Arriving in Glacier we were able to get a back country permit for our dream route: hiking from Kintla Lake trail head through Boulder Pass to Hole in the Wall campsite. Hole in the wall was the most beautiful camp spot I have ever seen, a hanging valley with waterfalls cascading down on all sides. The only other resident of the small valley was a large grizzly that we named "Buddy." That night camping in Glacier we felt our son Colin kick for the first time. Needless to say, we have never regretted making that trip.
