Dear Chris,

Very nice pictures, and quite a year of active outdoor life. I like especially the following: The streak of light on the grassy ridge between deep shadows in foreground and background (a fine sense of light that), three dead trees (a fine sense of space and the respect for life/death), the beam of sunlight in the forest (which you also used on one of your Christmas packages: looks like a good spot for an outdoor revelation), you and Sunshine at ease, and the sparkler extravaganza for New Year's eve (a nice sense and celebration of the ephemeral nature of human life in time). I'm also glad to hear that you have so far decided to leave the downhill skate boarding to someone else. At least crashing on the river is not dry asphalt.

Thanks for sharing these, and nice work. I can see your eye developing as you continue to shoot.

What a beautiful album, Chris. Thanks so much for sharing this with me. It really evokes the richness of that time you and James Michael shared at the cabin. I love the choice of photos, and the spareness of the presentation.

Love the contrast between the immediate (the table laid for a meal) and the vast (the nighttime sky laid with stars). Love the pic of JM and then the two of you by the fire. Those really tell of the peacefulness of that experience, as well the gift of friendship.

Just beautiful. This kind of thing needs to be printed out and kept in an album (says your Luddite mom).

I'm so thankful you were able to enjoy that time with James Michael.
