Horizonline Pictures is an award-winning visual production company based in Asheville, North Carolina. We use video and still photography to tell exciting, finely-crafted stories. Whether developing commercial projects or narrative features, Horizonline Pictures brings to each story a unique vision and a sensitivity to beauty, detail, and adventure.
Chris Gallaway founded Horizonline Pictures in 2006 with the release of his first feature-length video The Green Race Movie. That project went on to win the most prestigious awards in kayak filmmaking in the year it was released (the National Paddling Film Festival, the Reel Whitewater Film Festival), and it became the springboard for Chris’s continuing work in adventure storytelling. Since that time, Chris has helped found the online video collective Rapid Transit, he’s released documentary stories (The River Artists series), and he’s produced promotional content for some of the most successful summer camps in Western North Carolina. More recently, Chris has worked on content for leaders in the outdoor industry including Osprey Packs, Cascade Designs, and Outdoor Sports Marketing.
Chris continues to pursue stories that contain elements of creativity, adventure, and exploration. He is deeply invested in the values of local economy and community, and he aspires to live and work by the values championed in the writings of Wendell Berry.
